The sweet stuff



Since the magical discovery that I cannot eat gluten, I have made a lot of doughnuts from edible perspective. Ashley's recipes are amazing. She's coming out with a cookbook of 101+ doughnuts in the near future. I'm very excited.

Sadly, I had my first doughnut fail today. Couple of mistakes (totally all mine) including not remembering to grease the pan and using a vinegar/baking soda substitute for half of the eggs. Oh, and I tried adding chocolate chips and overfilled the pans.

I'm sharing because sometimes things go wrong. Sometimes we misread or forget ingredients. Sometimes things don't rise, or they stick, or they crack, or they slide, or they sink. Sometimes we get cocky and switch up too much of the baking chemistry balance. Sometimes we do all of that and everything turns out just fine anyway and they're tasty as all heck. Kind of like life.
